Scrylight is the next generation within mobile horror gaming. Utilising ground-breaking, Augmented Reality technology, players are offered the chance to turn whatever their environment may be into a full ghost hunting arena. As a writer it’s no secret that I’m a big fan of horror, ghost stories, gaming and augmented reality. However, in my opinion no mobile experience to date has offered a truly immersive, horror gaming experience which really sets the tone of an actual ghost hunt. Using not just jump scares and other tropes, but a game which can keep players on edge and immersing them into a world which starts to blur the boundaries of what’s real and what isn’t. From previously incorporating Augmented Reality into my work, I was lucky enough to get a chance of working with Ben Hamlett [TidyDev], a developer who has been pushing the boundaries in this incredible technology and creating truly immersive experiences. Between us we discovered a shared passion for ghost stories and horror experiences, agreeing that there was a void in the market for a mobile game which would really get your heart racing. Now, we believe we’ve created an app which will really blow gamers and horror fans away. Open the app and press the “Profile” button. Then press the “Scry Mic” button and speak the words that show untill all have been spoken. The camera will load and you must walk around and search for the Entity, you can use your mic to ask questions like “Where are you”, “What is your name”, “How did you die”. If you think you found the Entity, press the Scrylight button to reveal it, then you must try to banish it using the Scrylight button while the Entity is visable. Do this 3 times to be successful, have fun! 🙂
