In response to Hungary’s anti-LGBTQIA+ laws and UEFA’s ban on lighting Munich’s Allianz Arena in rainbow colors during the 2021 UEFA European Championships, Copenhagen Pride launched the Proud Pitch Instagram AR filter. This filter transformed football pitches into rainbow flags, allowing fans to protest digitally. The campaign, created in less than 48 hours, encouraged users to record and share their support on Instagram. The initiative gained significant traction, with nearly 40,000 stories shared, reaching 1.3 million online readers and garnering organic PR across various media, all without any media spend.
