“The Great Bucket Hunt” is a mobile-based webAR adventure game that allowed KFC fans to win food, sports and food experiences as well as $5,000 and $50,000 cash prizes. The game was developed in conjunction with a variety of agencies including Unbound, Geronimo, Ogilvy Australia, OPR Agency, Mediacom and AKQA.
Available to KFC fans nationwide, players could search for virtual buckets placed all over our glorious country. Playing couldn’t be easier; users simply tapped “The Great Bucket Hunt” on the KFC App to go forth in their bucket-hunting quest. To hunt down the goods, users needed to use the Bucket Map to find the virtual buckets, then spin them in AR to see what they’d won and add them to their stash. Effect created by Unbound.
