This US wide campaign enabled shoppers to plant virtual augmented reality trees in their cities, the top 5 cities with the most virtual trees get real trees planted! This AR program allowed users to scan the promotional campaign QR code, move through the branded campaign landing page then tap and plant a virtual tree in the location of their choice. Every virtual tree planted has a GPS coordinate on a live, interactive leader board and map, shoppers could share the campaign with friends, reposition their tree and even see other virtual trees that have been planted nearby. An interactive digital map of the United States was developed that tracks the GPS location of each virtual tree, tallies up the total per city and updates the leader board in real time. This fusion of digital AR technology with real world change has produced stunning engagement numbers as the Angel’s Envy brand gives back to its community and supports the growing need for trees in urban areas.
