In response to the shift to digital events in 2020, Walmart transformed Black Friday into a month-long e-commerce event called Deals For Days. To raise awareness and excitement, Walmart launched the #UnwrapTheDeals campaign on TikTok, featuring a shoppable Black Friday filter. The filter allowed users to reveal deals and win prizes, with a “Tap For Deals” sticker directing them to Walmart’s site. Partnering with six top creators, including Zach King, the campaign showcased unique deal drops and creative uses of the filter. The campaign achieved 5.5 billion views, over 1 million user-generated videos, and helped Walmart break traffic records for a digital sales event.
