THE VIRTUAL BLOOD DONATION

The Virtual Donation outdoor campaign used augmented reality to vividly demonstrate the impact of blood donations. Participants engaged with an AR app synced to outdoor screens displaying an empty blood bag and an ill patient. A sticker on their arm triggered an overlay showing a plaster, needle, and tube, simulating blood flowing into the bag on screen. As the bag filled, the patient visibly improved. Real-life stories of patients from diverse backgrounds underscored the life-saving potential of donations. Participants’ names appeared on screen, thanking them for their virtual donation and encouraging real-life sign-ups.
